This Best Ever Ambrosia is the perfect dessert for fancy dinner parties or when feeding a big crowd (hint: New Year’s Eve!). You can whip this up in a hurry and it’s always a big hit with kids and adults alike.
About this Recipe
I just realized that I haven’t shared any dessert recipes yet (shame on me!). Don’t worry, I’ll make it up to you. The last recipe of 2017 is one of my favourite sweet treats – Best Ever Ambrosia!
If you are from New Zealand, there’s a good chance that you will instantly recognize this dessert. If not, then you’re totally missing out and it’s about time you make this sweet and creamy dessert (like right now!). And yes, the NZ version is different to the US version. Basically, it’s raspberries, Greek yoghurt, whipped cream, and marshmallows. I’m telling you, this recipe is not only incredibly delicious but also extremely versatile. Let me tell you why!
Ingredients for Best Ever Ambrosia
This recipe requires only four simple and easy-to-find ingredients. You will need raspberries, Greek yoghurt, whipped cream, and marshmallows. Alternatively, you could replace the raspberries with whatever fresh or frozen berries you prefer.
How to make Best Ever Ambrosia
This Best Ever Ambrosia is the easiest dessert in the world. Seriously, it’s one of those never-fail desserts. You could even put the kids in charge and they would be able to whip this up in a minute (yep, it’s that foolproof!). Simply combine all the ingredients and refrigerate for several hours. Done.
It’s a great recipe for last-minute planning and easy-peasy to whip up when you are pushed for time (it takes less than 10 minutes!). Just make sure to prepare it the night before (or in the morning), and refrigerate it for at least six hours before serving as you need the marshmallows to soften and blend with the other ingredients.
How to serve Best Ever Ambrosia
Depending on the occasion, you can either serve it in a large bowl or little glass jars (if you want to be a bit fancier!). This classic kiwi dessert is not only perfect for small dinner parties but also when feeding a big crowd (hint: New Year’s Eve!). It’s also a great bring along for potlucks and BBQs (and yes, sometimes I eat it all by myself at home!).
I’m telling you, Ambrosia is a big hit with kids and adults alike. Also, have I mentioned that it’s a great way to sneak fruits into your kids’ food? The little ones love it. The fact that it contains marshmallows might have something to do with it (just a thought!). Seriously, if you’ve never had Ambrosia – MAKE IT NOW! Happy New Year, y’all!
