This Sweet Balsamic Vinaigrette requires 7 simple ingredients (olive oil, Crema di Balsamico, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic, sea salt, pepper), a food processor, and 5 minutes to make. It’s the perfect dressing for any kind of salad.
About this Recipe
Leeet’s talk about salad dressings. To me, the dressing really makes the difference when it comes to salad and I think that every salad deserves a kick-ass dressing. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Say hello to your new favourite salad dressing: Sweet Balsamic Vinaigrette.
This Sweet Balsamic Vinaigrette is my go-to salad dressing. I have tested and perfected it over the years and, if you’re into salads, it’s a must-try. Not only is it quick & easy to prepare but it also tastes much better than any dressing from the grocery store (trust me on this!).
It’s a real crowd-pleaser and even kids love it (psst… the maple syrup might have something to do with it!). I remember my best friend’s son eating it by the spoon when he was just two years old. Anyway, let’s make this dressing, shall we?!
Ingredients for a Sweet Balsamic Vinaigrette
You can make this delicious Sweet Balsamic Vinaigrette with 7 simple ingredients: olive oil, Crema di Balsamico, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic, sea salt, and pepper. So what’s the secret to a thick and flavourful dressing? I’m glad you’ve asked.
First, I recommend using high quality ingredients as they really do make a difference. In particular, do yourself a favour and get good quality Crema di Balsamico and cold pressed extra virgin olive oil (key ingredients!).
Second, aside from the quality of your ingredients, make sure to NOT skip the mustard as it will make your dressing smooth and keeps the oil and vinegar from separating. If you don’t like mustard or prefer a more creamy dressing, simply substitute the Dijon mustard with full-fat sour cream (both versions are good but I prefer the mustard version!).
Wanna make this dressing right away? Go ahead and check your pantry (you probably have all the ingredients on hand!). I’ll wait right here.
How to make a Sweet Balsamic Vinaigrette
You’re back? Great. Ok, let’s make this Sweet Balsamic Vinaigrette. It’s super simple. In fact, it’s so simple that I wasn’t sure if I should post this recipe in the first place. It feels like cheating because it only involves one step: Mix all ingredients. Done.
How to serve a Sweet Balsamic Vinaigrette
This Sweet Balsamic Vinaigrette is perfect to have on hand throughout the week. You can easily make it ahead of time and store it in the fridge until needed. It’s a great dressing for any kind of salad but I HIGHLY recommend serving it with my Simple Green Salad. It also tastes delicious paired with Caprese Salad. Seriously, you must give this dressing recipe a try. I think you’re going to love it. Enjoy!
