You might have noticed, I’ve got a thing for dips (e.g., Spring Onion Dip) and pesto. I ALWAYS prefer the homemade versions to store-bought versions. After publishing recipes for a Classic Green Pesto and a Classic Red Pesto, I also wanted to share a vegan pesto recipe on. This one is my favourite. Let’s do this!

How to make Vegan Avocado Basil Pesto
To make this vegan pesto, simply add all ingredients to your food processor (or blender) and process until smooth.
How to serve Vegan Avocado Basil Pesto
I like adding this pesto to things like salads, veggie noodles, buddha bowls, sandwiches, pasta, and potatoes. For instance, I HIGHLY recommend serving it with my Crispy Smashed Potatoes. It’s a perfect match.

Vegan Avocado Basil Pesto
- 1 avocado very ripe
- 1 cup basil tightly packed
- 1/4 cup avocado oil **
- 2 tbsp parsley (fresh) optional
- 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed**
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 garlic clove finely chopped
- Add all ingredients to a food processor and process until smooth.
- Adjust lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
*16 tbsp = 1 cup
**If you prefer your pesto to be more thinned out, add either extra avocado oil or lemon juice (I like a tangy lemony flavour!).
